This book tells the story of The Who by looking at their recordings one song at a time. 
The songs and albums are presented in chronological (not alphabetical) order as they were released.
Most of the songs recorded by the band are discussed in the book, although in some cases for just one or two sentences.
It does not get into much detail as far as where and when the songs were recorded or how many versions there are.
